A message to our fur families about COVID-19

As the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) situation and its impact on our customers and communities continues to evolve, we want you to know that Pumpkin is as committed as ever to helping protect the health and well-being of pets, and the people that love them.

I wanted to share with you four of the measures we’re taking to continue to to support 
pet families during this unprecedented time.
 
1. We will not cancel any active or upcoming policies due to non-payment through Aug 1 

The COVID-19 shutdown has financially impacted many of our communities and businesses nationwide. In support of our members who are facing financial challenges. Pumpkin will not cancel active or upcoming policy renewals due to non-payment through August 1, 2020.

2. Our entire team is safe and working from home – with their pets at their sides.
As a digital-first company, we’re well-equipped to conduct all of our business remotely. Since March 12th, our customer care team, product team, and engineers have been up and running from their home offices. And while we've all had to adjust to our new normal and 
Working From Home With Pets (WFHWP), our team has made tremendous progress – launching our new Preventive Essentials Pack offering and adding a ton of new content & features on our website.
 
3. We’re working with leaders in the animal health industry to share credible information. 
We understand there is a lot of confusing and conflicting news out there now. While the 
CDC and World Health Organization have not found any evidence that cats or dogs can spread the virus that causes COVID-19 or become ill from it, we’ll continue to work with our partners to share the latest, most credible information and resources with our members and communities.
 
4. We’re committed to supporting the heroic work of veterinarians in these trying times.
Veterinary hospitals across the country are keeping their doors open for cats and dogs that require treatment or emergency care. Due to ‘stay at home’ restrictions, many vet hospitals across the country have been forced to reduce services, cut hours, and adopt strict new measures to ensure the safety of their staff and clients. This is why we launched 
#ArfMeowForVets to help support veterinary hospitals and staff in financial hardship.

It’s been a tough few weeks, but here at Pumpkin we are inspired and energized. To the amazing pet parents like you, and to the veterinary professionals who continue to care for the pets we love, we would like to say:
